Modernisation and extension of a family home in Clontarf, Co Dublin. This project involved remodelling an existing semi-detached dwelling, to bring the outside in, and to create a wonderful new family home for the owners. Light, flow and functionality were key criteria to address. The insertion of a central courtyard allowed us to open up the floorplan, and cluster rooms around a central lightwell, drawing the outside in. The project explores a palette of earthy tones, honest materials, and carefully curated textures to create an environment where the family can both retreat and reconnect.
